I use the stock bars to transport my 17' yak every weekend on Thule rack. Never even worried about it.

Re: A/C Troubleshooting

I you search around you can find a few good shops that can diagnose your problem while you stand there. Then decide if its a job you can fix on your own or not. I do all my own work until yesterday. My vans a/c went out I took it to a place down the street, he found the failure for free. He pulled u...

Re: Learned a new trick to get the A/C to blow colder

Sounds like you are blocking air leakage from coming around behind the condenser. Is that correct? If there is substantial leakage, the insulation could force more air through the condenser rather than around it. Basicly that is correct, but the seal is actually all around the radiator since the co...

Learned a new trick to get the A/C to blow colder

One of my other cars a/c kicked it so I took it to a local shop to find out what I need to replace. While waiting I observed the owner/tech taking some foam pipe insulation and wedging it in all around where the radiator is bolted to the frame. So when it was my turn I asked him about my 03 vibe sin...

Re: Questions about adding a pusher fan for A/C?

Sorry I didn’t take any pics. It’s only a fan and one relay so not much to take pictures of. Any how the fan is in but I have not had any time to really test it out yet. The temps have dropped and the humidity is through the roof thanks to the tropical storm sitting in the gulf. However I did ge...

Re: Using a Clay Bar to Remove Paint Contamination

I tried it and thought it was garbage. It may have its place somewhere but not in my house. I could have used it for days on end and it would not pull a more than 1% of the trash out of my paint I can remove with a light compound in one swipe.

Re: Thule Hull-a-Port kayak carrier on OEM rails and crossba

I just used a big old Thule luggage carrier filled to the rim with stock crossbars and it they worked great. I don't know the model of the carrier becuase I borrowed it but it was as large as the entire roof and then some. I guranty it wayed more than a single kayak. I have a few of them so I am ver...

Re: Questions about adding a pusher fan for A/C?

Well it only took around 4 months but the fan will be here hopefully by the weekend. I could not take my teenage kids whining about how it was getting cool enough in the back seat any longer. I should have some results to post early next week.

Re: (Water boy)

Super dark windows. Before I bought the vibe it was living in Michagen. I am guessing they can have darker tint than in Florida because I can barley see out the back window or the prior owner was a 89 year old crack dealer. I was thinking about having them re-tinted to a lighter shade. But the fear ...

I already took into account traveling above 35 MPH. Good point though, this may help others decide if this is benafical to them. This darn city is so grid locked with trafic getting over 35 on the way to work, at lunch or over the weekend in most places is almost impossible. Sad thing is I drive 30 ...

I would start by checking the plugs to the inverter under your seat. If they look ok I would probe them for power both coming and going. This will set you in the direction you need to look.

Roducci, is that a pusher fan I see on the condensor or is that the horn? How has the air flow blockage affected your A/C temps and engine temps?

Sitting at a red light at lunch today I watched my a/c vent temp go up 10 degree's. Then when the light changed and I started moving it went back down. Its time to look for some fans and get this started. I need to measure still but I think I can fit 2 10" fans in there.

Questions about adding a pusher fan for A/C?

I have not looked under the hood yet but got the idea of adding a pusher fan to bring down the a/c temp. I am getting a reading around 48 now but I know it can get better. So I was wondering if anyone here has added a pusher fan to the condenser and if so did you see much difference both at idle and...

Well after searching the net further with no results the lightbulb in my head finaly came on. I just had to look up what the ECM looked like. After doing so I found the plug with no problem. All the wiring diagrams are very misleading allong with all the post I found. They just say remove the glove ...

I am not a audio gurro in any way, but I just asked my local sound shop about doing some thing similar and he told me I would basicly be wasting my time. The gains I would get would be minimal at best for what I am working with. He was more than willing to set my up for around $175, but warned me ag...

Oh, I forgot to add, to make my search a little easier I put a Craigslist app on my phone that notifies me any time a vibe is posted. I know this is my first post but I just bought my vibe a few weeks ago. I have been trolling around here looking for some mod tips. Anyhow, I would personally pass. I just paid $6,000 for my 03 vibe with 50,000 miles in perfect condition. It took me a few weeks to find this one and a 4 hour drive to...
