Anyone know if the OEM CD player will play CD-RW's

I was just wondering if anyone knows if the OEM base CD player will play CD-RW's recorded on the computer (as opposed to standard CDR's which it plays just fine). It would be kind of nice to be able to have some CD's around that you could re-record when you felt like some different music. I know one...

Sorry-didn't think I was going off topic-I responded to info within a post here and I thought that the factory service manual would fit the specs for a maintenance issue.

Re: Power window lockout problem (NSimkins)

hmmm-after re-reading the manual it seems vague and even confusing to say the least. It says "The driver can still operate the left front passenger window with the lock-out button pressed". Ummmm--wouldn't the left front passenger window be the driver's window?

Air-Conditioning question

I believe this is the right forum to ask this in. I have heard that the AC in Vibes is sometimes too cold (described as frosty even). However when I turn the AC on it eventually gets cool to cold (even on recirculate). Is there a test to see if your A/C is up to spec before I go to the dealer? I am ...

Power window lockout problem

I figured I would ask here before going to the dealer-when I have the passenger lockout on for the power windows I can't operate them from the drivers door either. The only way I can raise or lower the passenger windows is if I turn the lockout off first, From the sounds of the manual I should be ab...

Re: speaker size (vibedriver)

Ok-I just need a clarification-on here I read that 6.5" speakers will fit in the front doors but on the Crutchfield site it says no (except he component ones) and does not offer any adapter or install instructions for them. I am looking to replace my front speakers with coaxials so does this me...

No mention of radio security feature in manual

I think it's kind of strange that there is no mention in the manual of the theft-deterrent feature of the radio (or at least I can't find any mention). The one I am talking about is the he one where if you disconnect the radio from the vehicle it becomes useless and will not work if you try to put i...

Replacement CD players that will do MP3 and speaker efficiency question

I am currently considering replacing my CD/radio head unit in my Vibe with one that will play MP3' s - the stock unit plays CDR's fine (I like the idea of doing a CD with MP3's that will play for 10 hours on an extended road trip) . However looking at Crutchfield's listing most of the moderate price...

Re: To overdrive, or not to overdrive? (VibeInTx)

The manual is a little vague about the overdrive. In the section where it talks about the overdrive on/off button it says to to use this feature for better gas mileage does it mean when it's on it get's better mileage and if so it gives no clue why anyone would want to turn it off?

Hmmm-they seem to just changed it-it did say 4.9% and a $500 rebate and that is what my dealer told me and it is even on my purchase order-hmmmm--should be interesting when I go to pick it up-thanks for the info.

Re: What are people plugging into their standard power outlet? (yank dini)

Yank-if the powerpack won't fit into the plug maybe you could use a small extension cord-plug the cord into the outlet and plug the adapter into the cord. As for other uses for the outlet-I plan on using mine to charge my cell-phone while on the move-that way I don't have to get a seperate vehicle a...

Sounds like the dealer didn't want to do a too thorough search (do they get less commisipn on an employee purchase perhaps?). There is one strange thing about this rebate though-you only get it if you do the 4.9% financing (up to 5 years). Normally you either get a rebate or reduced rate financing. Henry

Aftermarket upgrade from 4 speaker to 6 speaker system

I will shortly be getting my Vibe and unfortunately could not get the Moon and Tunes package with the Power package (which was more important to me) in the Sattelite 2 tone color. Now I can live without the MoonRoof (for now) but how easy is it to add in the extra 2 speakers (which I presume are twe...
