Re: How to Remove Rear Wiper Assembly (Tutorial)

Thanks, this just saved my day. I got out of my car this afternoon to realize the rear wiper was flopped down along the back door and thought I was screwed. Turns out that little nut right underneath the plastic part that pulls off had just come loose.

Re: HVAC Damper Door Actuator Motor

This thing was a PITA to replace. I ended up taking the radio out and going in through there for the top screw but even then it was very hard to access. I tried using a U Joint with some extensions, but the vent air duct was in the way and prevented me from being able to twist the screw. I ended up ...

Re: design flaw?

Sorry to bump this, but I've purchased a 2 prong to 3 prong adapter for use with the 110V outlet. Is there any harm to using a 3 pronged appliance (like my laptop) in this fashion?

Re: Cold/Hot knob gets stuck

Aha, I fixed it. Since this doesn't seem to be a common problem, I'll post my experience. It actually was similar to what happened to Colonel Panic. It turns out it was somewhat related to when I changed out the damper actuator. I had a feeling that there had to be something stuck in the knob mechan...

Re: Cold/Hot knob gets stuck

Well I thought maybe this had happened: Or, like what also happened to me, the bulb can fall down inside the mechanism for one of the knobs and keep the control from going all the way to one side like what happened to my temperature cable. But no, I just checked and my backlighting is fully function...

Re: Cold/Hot knob gets stuck

On another note, this didn't happen until I was in there this past weekend to replace the HVAC damper actuator, so maybe I knocked something loose? But that knob and cable aren't really near where I was working. And the circ-recirc is working fine now.

Re: Cold/Hot knob gets stuck

Nope that's not it, pulled out the cabin filter and nothing's in it. Also like I said, I unhooked the cable from the knob so it's not even connected to the blend door but it still gets stuck, about 1/3 of the way to cold. The blend door moves freely by hand. For a temporary "fix", I've lef...

Re: Cold/Hot knob gets stuck

I'm having the same issue...disconnected the cable at the bottom and it still does it. Pulled out my radio to make sure no cables were blocking it, still does it. I don't know what's going on.

Re: HVAC Damper Door Actuator Motor

I have to do this myself soon on my 2005. Did you go in only through the glove box hole or did you take the radio out as well?

Re: Sublimes front brake tutorial

Yeah i'm going to get a brake fluid flush pretty soon, especially since i didn't bleed the lines out. At first my brake pedal was really tight but now it feels a little squishy. I did use a wire brush on the carriers, but i didn't file the edges of the pads down. I guess that would have done the tri...

Restoring Belt Molding

The belt molding on all four of my windows have these lighter colored spots all over them. I was wondering if there was any way to get rid of that seeing as how i'm not paying hundreds of dollars for replacements. I've tried Mother's Back to Black but it seemed to have no effect. Has anyone had succ...

Re: Sublimes front brake tutorial

I replaced the brake pads and rotors on my 05 today. It was at about 76,700 miles, no idea if it had ever been done before as i got the car used around 50k. The rotors really didn't look that bad but i was getting vibration in the sterring wheel so i guess they were a bit warped, despite having them...

I replaced the front brake rotors and pads. I also replaced the cabin air filter, greased the door hinges and applied silicon grease to the weather stripping.

Re: unknown cable tied to AC controls

I saw that in mine too, but didn't disconnect it. I assume it's just a place holder that they were too lazy to get rid of. I think in some models that spot is for the traction control feature on/off button.

Re: Replacing stock HU with HD Radio...

Well i got the new radio in. I ended up using a PAC SOEM4, pretty similar to the Scosche SLC-4 but the local car audio place didn't carry those. It had a yellow 12V wire, amp turn on wire and blue/black ground wire in addition to black ground wires coming out of both sides....i just taped all those ...

Re: Replacing stock HU with HD Radio...

I saw someone else mention this in another thread but not much was said about it. My new HU has FR, FL, RR, RL pre outs on it. Can i use the pre outs on my new HU to connect directly to the speaker wires on the factory harness? Will a stripped down RCA wire even work like that? Is there some kind of...

Replacing stock HU with HD Radio...

Ok so apparently i don't know as much about this stuff as i thought. I have many questions. After reading over some other stuff in these forums i feel like a complete noob. I got my Vibe used a few years ago and i didn't even realize it has the so called "moon n tunes" package. I thought i...
