Don't know about the weight limits on the Yak, but it is a Loon 111 from Old Town. I've been pretty happy with it, but I do have boat envy :-). I got the 111, because it has the compartment behind the seat for my dog. If I was in the market again, I'd probably go for one of the Blackwater boats. I d...

Stability was surprisingly good. However, I only drive it 2 miles, without highway, to transport it between my old apartment and my new house, so I don't have too much experience to talk about. No, they were very non-challant about it. I hate Pontiac service to the point where I only go near the place if I need a warranty repair. My theory is that the sound I heard was a backfire, and the pressue caused the hose to pop out. The guy at the service place said that most cars have clips that h...

After gasing...car won't hold a start

When I was gassing up today, a "pop" sound came from the direction of the gas tank. I thought it was the pump shutting off, but the gas still flowed. The engine was running while I was filling up, which I suspect was the root of my problem. Now, the car cranks, but will not hold the start. ...

One of the cool things about the AMD 64-bit stuff is that it maintains the 32-bit compatability, even in 64-bit mode. When running the Microsoft 64-bit windows XP, for example, a 32-bit program can theoretically run faster than if the same program was running in a 32-bit OS. That is because the OS i...

Modern cars will not knock. They have knock sensors that will detune the engine's timing. Performance improvement with octane increase is feasible, and I think I have experienced it.

If audio quality isn't too important (i.e. using only for books on tape), you may want to look into a cassete with an FM modulator.
