2005 front caliper bolts

Hi folks
seems I lost a couple bolts from the front calipers (not the sliders, the ones that hold the calipers on to the hub/knuckle)
anyone know the dimensions/thread etc? all the parts shops are closed here for the weekend. hoping to find something adequate at a hardware store.

thanks

Re: Windows steaming up with defroster on full

just got a chance to check the manual.
apparently recirc should automatically turn off when selecting defog or defrost.
also, the A/C compressor will not engage if outside temps are below 32F/0C

Re: Windows steaming up with defroster on full

as most here have mentioned it sounds like your problem is using the recirc air and not fresh.

also mentioned is the AC coming on when using defrost. But IIRC the AC only kicks in when the temp selection is on the cool side. When set to warm, the AC does not come into play.

exhaust manifold gasket

I need to remove the heat shield in order to inspect and/or replace the exhaust manifold gasket - which I am fairly certain is the culprit of my exhaust noise. But I'm not sure how to remove the O2 sensor. Do you need a special tool? I can't see how to get a wrench or socket onto the sensor because ...

Re: my crossbar removal tale of woe

i forgot to mention...before all this, I had asked the dealer if they thought I should install a trans cooler to tow. They directed me to the owner's manual. The owner's manual tells you to contact GM for such questions. So i emailed them. Their response was to check with a GM Goodwrench service pro...

Re: my crossbar removal tale of woe

gotta love GM When I bought my used Vibe ('05 in '08) I asked the dealer to install a transmission cooler since I planned to tow. They said "no problem". Then a while later the "mechanic" as me to come to see the car. Apparently the hoses from the car were a different size from t...

Exhaust Manifold Gasket

Recently I've been hearing my exhaust a little louder than it should be indicating a leak or hole. I got under the car to inspect and can't find any obvious problem, but the noise seems to be coming from the engine bay which leads me to believe it is the exhaust manifold gasket. Has anyone here had ...

there is an emergency lock out switch near the shift lever. have you tried to re-set that? there is a small cover above and to the right of the shift lever. maybe that would help??

Re: tailgate door ajar sensor

well that didn't take long. After giving the hatch latch assembly a good WD-40 soak a few days ago, the problem persists. After not having driven it for a few hours, I went to get something from the Vibe in the dark garage, and noticed the interior lights on. Yep, it was the hatch giving the d...

Re: tailgate door ajar sensor

based on the advice here, I gave the latch a good WD40 soak a few days ago. Since then the door ajar light hasn't reappeared...but it was an intermittent problem at worst. I'll post if the problem presents again, here's hoping it doesn't.

tailgate door ajar sensor

over the past year on occasion my door ajar light comes on and after opening and closing all doors, I discover it is the tailgate. Even if the gate has not been opened recently it seems to spontaneously trip the light and will remain on until I open the hatch and slam the door again. I have looked a...

i absolutetly love my 2005 AWD. It is virtually unstoppable in the snow - both in acceleration and handling.
True, you give up some HP and fuel mileage though. But I have never regretted going for the AWD.

Re: (04shadowvibe)

I found the attached images on the MO site. the block drain is on the firewall side of the engine, just below & to the driver's side of exhaust port 1.My car was apparently already filled with Dexcool(orange), so I kept it with that since I was just doing a drain and fill. At some point I may do...

Did a drain and fill of the ATF. The fluid on the dipstick didn't look too bad, but once I drained it the fluid looked like used motor oil. Very glad I did that. Also did a coolant change.

engine block coolant drain on 2005 AWD (1ZZ-FE)

I'm trying to do a coolant flush and can't find the coolant valve on the block. I found a picture on the site that shows the GT location, but nothing specific to my engine.Does the '05 AWD engine have such a drain valve? any pictures would be helpful

Recently I noticed a rough idle when cold and with a little research here, discovered that it could be due to the intake manifold gasket. So I picked up the redesigned gasket part#17171-22060(~$8) and changed that out last weekend.Simple fix - took less than an hour - and I think I can feel an impro...

coolant/ATF change

Hi allI'm planning to give the Vibe a "day at the spa" this weekend. Currently at about 140,000Kms (88,000Miles) and since I'm the second owner I'm not sure when/if the coolant and ATF has ever been changed. The local Toyota shop charges $89 for each of these services, but I'd rather do it ...

I'll definitely change the VVT filter - can't hurt - she's got 130K kms(82K Ms) and I'm sure the previous owner didn't do it, and I can't think of any other maintanence I've not done that would help.As I'm sure you know, the AWD...

sudden decrease in fuel mileage

Hi folksI'm a new member here, although I've creeped the site often to perform maintanence work on my '05 AWD Vibe.Recently I've been feeling like my mileage has dropped, so for the last 2 tanks I checked it (21 mpg and 19 mpg respectively). My past mileage was always right around 30mpg.In the past ...
