Sounds like ether the lifter collapsed or is stuck or has crud stuck in it. Did you try adding a little bit of trans fluid(a half qt) to the engine and driving it about 200 or so miles and then chenge out the oil and add 5W into it? As for the warning about Suzi pulling out and not supporting the cars, look out for Toyota also as they pretend the Scion brand don't exist when it comes time to repair it under warranty.

Yes Toyota will sell you the complete bulb/socket. They will not sell the socket part on its own(at least in the Toyota dealers in my area. My guess is that your missing part will fall down at you when you drop the map light housing.
