Re: replaced lower control arms, now alignment issues

I know this is an old thread but just in case someone new runs across it, the problem here is that the new control arms come with the wrong ball joints. If you go this route plan on buying the correct ball joints for your vibe and swap them before installation of new arms. Also swap the bushings fo...

Re: Are Vibe and Matrix instrument clusters interchangeable?

I believe that Vibe and Matrix came out of different plants. The VIbe was US in the NUMMI plant., the Matrix was made in Canada. You are correct Vibe and Corolla (and Tacoma on a separate line) came out of the NUMMI plant in Fremont, CA. Matrix and Corolla came out of the TMMC plant in Cambridge, O...

Nice find. Good write up. What AC/DC 12V/4A power adapter did you get for $3? I'm thinking about doing the same and that is definitely the way to go to set it up.

I dunno why, but when I see stuff like this, its just weird knowing that I may have had my hands on this vehicle in it's infancy, and if I didn't, I definitely know many people who did. Hope those injured make a full and speedy recovery.

Good score. I recently scored a Jayco popup myself. Definitely replace those tires. Even though they may not have much mileage on them, they are old by RV and trailer tire standards, which are different than passenger vehicle standards. A good source for tires and such is etrailer.com. Should inspec...

The Japanese market and television audience is very different in Japan than it is in the US. Something that may be the norm in Japan may be a bit too risqué for the US market. The spot in that link is brilliantly simple.

Mine was broken when I got the Vibe. I also scored one from local Toyota dealer. The Toyota part number is on the bottom inside of the part, should be a 10 digit number. If the number has been changed, whatever number is on there should cross reference with the current part number.

You have to cut holes in your fenders. I wouldn't do it... That is exactly what we did when we were exporting the Voltz to Japan, actually we punched the holes, not cut them. The same fenders were used for both the Vibe and Voltz. When a Voltz fender went in the jig to weld the top bracket on, a ho...

I always put them on my vehicles and can't stand driving without them. I think all new vehicles should come with them. Not stick on ones, but nicely mounted ones. I've always put them on the lower bottom corners. Not sure how well they work in other locations, but they work just fine for me there.

$2,350 out the door. Never thought I'd own a Vibe, especially after building them for eight years. Not that anything is wrong with them, but I guess its kind of that, you know, see it, smell it, touch it everyday kind of thing when you've just had enough of them and don't want to see them anymore.
