I took the rings off and tried pulling/prying it off, but it was still on there pretty tight. I didn't want to just start putting a lot of force into it and risk breaking something. I'll look at more closely when I have some free time.
I wanted to remove the panels so I could paint them but didn't see any topics explaining how to do it, so I figured I'd write up something. They are really simple to remove.1. Remove these two bolt covers with a flat-tip screwdriver2. Remove the two silver screws with a T25 Torx bit3. Remove the two...

I'd take one of these: http://www.motortrend.com/road...rive/ But seeing as how I bought a Mazda5 not too long after I started this thread, I'm out of the market for a while
Robert DeClercq is a character in a series of novels by Michael Slade (he's a Mountie). Our Canadian member's may be more familiar with his work - most of the novels are set in and around Vancouver, plus the author is Canadian. I just thought the last name was unique and I wasn't feeling very creati...
Enjoy it while you can! Out here we've gotten maybe 4 inches all season. We got about 2 inches over the past two days, but tomorrow is supposed to be near 50 with possible thunderstorms. This has been one crappy winter!

For those who may be interested: http://www.autoblog.com/2012/0...2011/ Where there are winners, there are inevitably losers. All MY Vibes use a Toyota powertrain. 2003-2008:1.8 L 1ZZ-FE I4 Base models or1.8 L 2ZZ-GE I4 in the GT2009-2010:1.8L 2ZR-FE or2.4L 2AZ-FE I'm pretty sure leather was never a factory option in the Vibes. If you do find one with leather, it was probably put in aftermarket. 2005-2008 models are identi...
Does it not unlock as well? Or does it just not lock? I had a similar issue with a Santa Fe where the driver's door would not lock with the remote or the door button, but it would unlock. Ended up replacing the actuator. One possible cause to investigate. I replaced it myself (part cost about $60 fr...
Surprisingly they have stayed off. All I did other than reset the codes was take off and screw back on the gas cap. So maybe it was as simple as a loose cap.
Good to hear! We've had our Vibe 8 years this past August and other than 3 failed heater cores last year it's been trouble-free. Just the routine stuff you mentioned.
Thanks for the tip, I'll take a look. I did erase the codes prior to leaving work and CEL did not come back on during the drive home. Granted it was only about a 10 mile drive. I'll just play the waiting game now and see if it comes back on before doing anything drastic.
CEL came on this morning and these were the codes I got. After several minutes of thorough research, I have concluded it's either a loose gas cap (doubtful) or a bad evap canister, or any number of other possibilities. Hope it's not the canister. Cheapest I found was from Rockauto ($254). Did find a...

I don't agree with the Baja either. I've owned 3 Subarus over the years and am kinda partial to 'em. Give me a turbo with a manual and I could surprise a few people. I would have seriously considered one but my wife, of course, thinks they're ugly. That and it's only a 4-seater.
While I don't have any experience with BMW's, I would be hesitant to purchase one. My concern would be that maintenance and repair costs would be a lot more than the "non-premium" brands.

Overcharged is an understatement. I got a PCV valve from Autozone for no more then $10 and got a filter off of ebay for not much more. You could replace both yourself in about 30 minutes.
