I took the rings off and tried pulling/prying it off, but it was still on there pretty tight. I didn't want to just start putting a lot of force into it and risk breaking something. I'll look at more closely when I have some free time.

Enjoy it while you can! Out here we've gotten maybe 4 inches all season. We got about 2 inches over the past two days, but tomorrow is supposed to be near 50 with possible thunderstorms. This has been one crappy winter!

Surprisingly they have stayed off. All I did other than reset the codes was take off and screw back on the gas cap. So maybe it was as simple as a loose cap.

Good to hear! We've had our Vibe 8 years this past August and other than 3 failed heater cores last year it's been trouble-free. Just the routine stuff you mentioned.

Thanks for the tip, I'll take a look. I did erase the codes prior to leaving work and CEL did not come back on during the drive home. Granted it was only about a 10 mile drive. I'll just play the waiting game now and see if it comes back on before doing anything drastic.

I don't agree with the Baja either. I've owned 3 Subarus over the years and am kinda partial to 'em. Give me a turbo with a manual and I could surprise a few people. I would have seriously considered one but my wife, of course, thinks they're ugly. That and it's only a 4-seater.

While I don't have any experience with BMW's, I would be hesitant to purchase one. My concern would be that maintenance and repair costs would be a lot more than the "non-premium" brands.

Overcharged is an understatement. I got a PCV valve from Autozone for no more then $10 and got a filter off of ebay for not much more. You could replace both yourself in about 30 minutes.
