Re: Have a question on awd system for the 2009 vibe

I'm not sure how accurate that diagram is... At any rate, the front differential is a part of the transmission, the transfer case and rear differential are by themselves. I suppose you could fit the awd system into your new...whatever it is you're converting to, if you find the right stuff/people to...

Re: Turning off headlights 09 Vibe

Hey guys! I just made a how-to video on installing a simple switch for your '09+ Vibe DRL's, if anyone cares to see it or would like help...unfortunately I already finished the job before I decided to make the video so I don't have any technical tips but it's still useful! http://www.youtube.com/wat...

Re: (jkm311)

I found a piece of aluminum in the basement that worked perfectly to extend the horn low enough so that the horn wire in my 2009 Vibe would connect. It seems strange to hear a "normal" sound when I activate the horn. Fact is, I already miss the sissy beep-beep sound. It was just, well, di...

^^^The Owner's Manual info listed above is 100% accurate. I put my Vibe up on a lift today and put it into gear to see which wheels spin. All four spun in all three driving modes (standard, trac off, trac off/vcs off).

"A LOCK switch can be used to manually select a 50:50 torque split for enhanced low-speed traction in conditions like mud or snow. Once the RX reaches 25 mph, the LOCK switch automatically disengages."That's the quote on the Lexus system from the link you provided...I work at a lube shop, ...

Re: How does the AWD system work? (KITT222)

Well, they actually list the tranny fluid as T-IV, which is a Toyota product, and the correct fluid for '03-'08. The actual fluid on all the '09+ is T-WS.

How does the AWD system work? ('09 Vibe)

***UPDATE: On the '09+ AWD Vibes, the AWD is full-time! I confirmed this by putting my Vibe up on a lift and putting it into gear. All four wheels spun in standard driving mode, with Trac Off, and with Trac Off/VCS Off. Good stuff! So, when I bought the car, the dealer told me that my '09 Vibe AWD o...

Hey thanks for all the links you guys!Good news from the dealership...Apparently there is absolutely nothing wrong with the car and it's pretty much in perfect working order. The vibration problem I have (idling in D or R), apparently is an attribute of the vehicle. The compared it with another '09 ...

Unfortunately I can't do that thanks to the quality techs at Jiffy Lube. I don't know what they did with it but I have an Everlast drain plug on there now.

09 oil drain plug

I need a new oil drain plug....rather than getting one for some outstanding price at the dealership, I was wondering if anyone knew if the earlier models like '03-'08 have the same drain plug? I know all Toyotas sport a 14mm plug but I'm not sure if they all have the same threads.

Re: Transmission fluid change on my 09 Vibe AWD & 05 Honda CR-V (Airmack)

The '09 Vibe recommends transmission fluid change every 60k miles under severe service. If your owner's manual is anything like mine, it is WRONG on what fluid it requires. It says T-IV, but that is for the '03-'08 only! The '09 and up requires Toyota World Standard (WS) transmission fluid (check yo...

In the winter I usually run Mobil 1 0w20.Also in my rear differential and transfer case I run Mobil 1 75w90.My transmission I run WolfsHead Un...

Hello fellow Vibe fanatics. This is my first post here, and I just felt like sharing that yesterday on my '09 AWD I dropped out he transmission pan, cleaned it and the magnets, replaced the transmission filter and gasket, and ran a 10 qt flush.
