ZenVibe What is happening is you clutch is wearing out that is why it slips. Your list of expected problems are what would happen if it needed bleeding , slave or master cylinder problems or pressure plate failure.

CARA , That is your main problem you need to fix the REC. MOTOR for your defrost setting to work ( windshield ). If you still have a problem after the repair you should make sure your heater core is not cracked or leaking. GOOD LUCK!

You may want to make sure the shifter cables are routed and anchored properly from the clutch change. If the cables are loose or binding under the hood the shifter may not center in neutral the way it is suppose too.

Ken if you think that only the disc was replaced that may explain the loud squeak when you depress the clutch. Pressure plates should not be reused because off the heat and centrifugal balance. Ken, Just so you can stop thinking it is mechanical in the clutch pry the release fork back and secure it. Start the car and see if you can put it in gear I am sure you will be able too.

Kaflex, I am not sure this is your problem. You my want to pull your panel off and check out your ac/recirculate buttons. Their is some type of linkage that runs between the mode dial and the button pack. It could just be sticking and not letting you turn the dial. Good Luck.

Pointbob not sure what you mean about idle 750 in drive is right for most cars. Your noise problem sounds like it may be your tensioner for your drive belt (serpintine?) . Some times when they go bad they chatter at idle. Good luck hope you find it.

First off you NEVER USE ONLY THE BRAKES!!!! it is not about wearing them out or replacement not even rotor warp.What happens to your brakes is that when you over heat them they glaze over and start too fade ( as in NOT WORK at all) ...
