GM sells (or did for a while) the GT wings in 4 pre-painted colours not badly priced (or un painted for even cheaper) - As for the front strut bar, unless someone is parting with the OE front brace your better bet is to buy the TRD front strut brace - I'm looking at getting the TRD front brace soon ...

Just like J to Envy said, this is a normal operation - I have a 2010 2.4 and this is totally normal - unlike the older transmissions/transaxles primarily of the 4 speed generation, these trans do not use bands anymore which alters the shift feel & quality - all the newer 5, 6 & 7 speed autos...

Yes, the air goes through this filter regardless of which mode, fresh, recirc, defrost, heat, cold, etc. It is just over the blowermotor itself so any air coming in to the cabin must pass through this filter, so you are safe to leave it in any mode :D

GM does have a bulletin regarding this condition on the 1.8L engines (basically the same Toyota Bulletin) there is also one for the 2.4L engines with a Sharp Engine noise @ start or idle - the intake cam phaser will need to be replaced on this engine as well if traced / diagnosed as the concern
