My 05 squeaks like that as well. I haven't made the time to look at it. Would like to have someone apply the brakes with the drum off to see where it's coming from.

Changed the water pump, fluid, thermostat and hoses. The pump was starting to leak so thought I would change everything, hoping to get another 120,000 miles out of them.
Replaced the intake manifold gasket, cleaned throttle body and MAF.
Washed it.

Mine started leaking so I just changed it yesterday. 05 with 120,000 miles. I went ahead and changed everything... hoses, thermostat, water pump. I also changed the intake manifold gasket, cleaned the throttle body and MAF ... thinking it will help with the vibration, but really don't notice a diffe...

Does anyone have the correct Toyota part number for a water pump?2005 Vibe base model...Called two Toyota dealers for a quote to have it replaced... One wanted over $900, the other one said $310. Slight variation is amazing.Pontiac dealer quoted me over $500.Thanks

may want to replace the serpentine (spelling?) belt. I changed mine around 110,000 miles and it had cracking on the ridges... not too bad but just telling me that it was going bad.

okay, just did a quick search.... found an 2009 Matrix S AWD with sunroof and subwoofer in hatch...45,xxx miles, $15,985 in chicago, ilI don't recall seeing too many Matrix with the subwoofer.

I was considering the Matrix as well when I was looking for a used older daily driver.. The 2005 Vibe won... it was hard to find a Matrix with a sunroof, leather and a subwoofer (Moon and Tune package). i bought my 05 with about 95,000 miles on it and now I think I have about 115,XXX miles. I have done some maintenance things and mods, but no major repairs. I do think my water pump is slowly going out. The only thing that I can think of is to check and see if the PCM/ECM was replaced. Pontiac/Toyot...

I added the toyota fluid to the plastic tank (because it was empty) and it solved my heat problem. now, I need to find the leak and fix the real problem of losing fluid.

no heat unless engine running over 2000 rpms when stopped at light. looked under the hood this morning and noticed some dried up pink stuff around the drive belt pulleys... thinking maybe water pump going out.

I'm having a similar problem with my heat. I've noticed that when I stop at a stop light, the air coming out of the vents begins to turn cold. Once I start driving again, the air out of the vents warm-up again. This is the strangest thing.
